Abstract: Heparin Resistance Heparin resistance is suspected when more heparin than usual is needed to achieve a therapeutic range of activated partial-thromboplastin time. Management may include increasing the heparin dose, supplementing antithrombin III levels, and using direct thrombin inhibitors.
